The Mistress of Making

I am a disabled textile artist who uses traditional embroidery techniques such as silk shading and stump work and sometimes watercolours to "draw and sculpture with thread". I took to hand stitching after developing chronic illnesses which helped in a therapeutic way and also gave me a purpose. I create hand embroidered jewellery accessories and homeware utilising fabrics sourced from unwanted fashion and reclaimed jewellery to create textile curiosities that have been transformed by the magic of hand stitching ready for their new chapter to be treasured once more.
